L'huitre et l'éponge - guided tour, 19 Sept - 25 Oct 2020
From the metaphor of the sponge and the oyster (which in reality are both filtering animals), different creators will be asked by the creative house le CORRIDOR to question and artistically activate this concept of filtering: what do we pay attention to? What do we choose to keep, eliminate or ignore in what passes through us? Am I rather a fishing net that catches only what it likes? A water treatment plant that blocks what it doesn’t like? Or a filter that lets things flow through while trying to bend them towards anything that promotes life?

The Corridor at Full Moon in Amsterdam, 16 July 2019
FULL MOON is a bi-monthly evening, during which curators Marian Cousijn and Robbie Schweiger show video art at FC Hyena’s ultra-comfy setting. Because let’s be honest: in a museum or gallery, you don’t always have the time to watch all video works from beginning to end. So swap that uncomfortable gallery bench and those greasy headphones for soft pillows, a glass of nice wine and a bite, and enjoy video art at the cinema!

SWEET 16 - KANAL / CINEMATEK - 9 FEBRUARY 2019
CINEMATEK disposes of an extraordinary collection of 23.000 16mm films, including unique prints, documentaries, classics, avant-garde and militant films. Once a month, we present the special SWEET16 event, an experimental performative tribute to 16mm.
In February, Sweet 16 proudly unfolds its chairs and activates its projector to welcome Sarah Vanagt's carte blanche made up of CINEMATEK's large 16 mm collection. The Belgian artist and filmmaker investigates the work of artists who take a particular look at photography, such as Agnès Varda. An exploration which resonates with Sarah Vanagt's collective exhibition LOOK AT ME, to be discovered until 28.04 at Argos.

Installation PLAKFILM at City:Land festival, 9-13 October 2018
With a role of tape and a magic lantern, the children in PLAKFILM gauge the turbulence of our age. They roll out transparent tape in the streets where they grew up. When they strip the tape away, an imprint of the city comes with it: dust, sand, candy wrappers, insects, glass, bits of fluff… The strips of tape thus form an ultra-realistic diary that is brought to life using an old magic lantern. Can all these forms and images help us to predict the future?
The installation Plakfilm is part of the festival CITY:LAND (Kaaitheater).

In Waking Hours at 8th Imagine Science Festival, New York, 16-24 October
The 8th Imagine Science Film Festival takes place October 16 – 24, 2015.
The festival theme is “AIR”!
Air. Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, Carbon Dioxide. The substance that fills our lungs and fills the skies. The medium through which birds and airplanes glide, not to mention sound waves. Easy to overlook, impossible to live without. The 8th Annual Imagine Science Film Festival will focus on air in all its forms and meanings: respiration, aeronautics, the elemental composition of the atmosphere, weather, climate, sublimation, gas properties, the mechanics of sound, and all of the mundane and esoteric ways in which air touches everything in and beyond our world.
Each night of the festival moves to a different venue, circulating through the tri-state area with 116 short films and 10 features. We celebrate both scientific merit and visually engaging cinema with awards presented on closing night.
This year’s program was curated with a great deal of help from Bennett Glace, Ozge Calafato, and Maya Edelman.
